Pyrite
Pyrite FeS2 is a mineral from the sulfide group,It's a common mineral found worldwide,It occurs in Sedimentary,Metamorphic,Magmatic and Hydrothermal deposits.It is used as a minor source of Sulfur or Iron,also in Marcasite jewelery.Pyrite has the following properties:
1.Hardness:6-6.5 on the Moh Scale
2.Color:Brassy Yellow
3.Specific Gravity:4.9-5.1
4.Cleavage:None or indistinct.
5.Habit:Many crystal habits such as (Cubic,massive,octahedral,pyritohedron,intergrown,globular,radiated,stalctitic,granular).
6.Fracture:Uneven,Sometimes conchoidal.
7.Luster:Metallic.
8.Streak:Greenish-black
